SWIMMING - It's June and it's getting hot out there. Why not jump in the pool and swim a few laps? Ear plugs and bathing cap optional.
"TYSON" - I can't stop thinking (and talking) about this Mike Tyson documentary. It's completely one-sided, feels about 3 hours long and I left feeling pretty depressed. Still, I was fascinated by the rise and fall of such a gifted athlete who is continually his own worst enemy.
BLOOMINGTON, IN - Had an amazing show at the Bluebird recently and the people of Indiana couldn't have been a better crowd. A fun town with fun people, fun food and fun bars.
TAVIS SMILEY - Very into this interviewer lately. He's insightful, witty, and has his finger on the pulse of what's interesting and important in 2009. He's got a great PBS talk show as well as an informative radio show. Can also download both shows as podcasts and listen on the go (as I often do).
MLB.TV - I'm embarrassed to say how much time I spend watching this website subscription service, which lets me watch every single major league baseball game live on my computer. However, I'm even more embarrassed to think about how long I went without it. Play ball!
COTTAGE CHEESE - I'm a fan. Some people are scared of the curds, but I love to mix it up with some fresh fruit and make a meal out of it. Good as an appetizer or instead of dessert.
90's R&B - Jodeci, Shai, TLC, Tevin Campbell, Mary J. Blige and of course Boyz II Men. The singers of my youth! I used to make my own mixtapes off the radio (95.5 WPGC in DC) and these guys were the best. Then I went on an iTunes bender the other night and was happy to know that the songs still stand up today. they are such a soulful group and undeniably one of the greatest female groups of all time (the Supremes and Destiny's Child, too.. and Spice Girls!!.... maybe)

Mike Tyson
That man has lived it hasn't he? I was so sad when I heard about his little girl.
I grew up on boxing and loved it. Still do, don't watch it as much now though. I never really understood what those guys go through day in day out until nursing school. Then poof, it dawned on me the head injury thing. It's definitely not a sport one would pick rather it picks them, you know?
Mike Tyson
My dad, W. L. Daggy, (some of his cards are online) and my nephew D. J. were gifted boxers. Dad was also a singer in the 1930s (?) in Seattle. I followed in the music, but not the boxing. One night dad and I were watching a title bout on television. George Forman sang the national anthem.
I asked, "Who told Forman he could sing?"
Dad answered, in a line that would have immediately qualified him to write for Johny Carson, "Whose going to tell George Forman he can't sing."
Do you have any Mike Tyson jokes. If so, I'll bite.

re: Mike Tyson
Read this the other day but wasn't able to comment. It was definitely a moment when I needed the laugh, timing was perfect, thank you. Fortunately though, I don't have any jokes. :)
Yogurt
Oh my word Fage Total Classic Yogurt with Honey is heavenly, you would love it. They sell it with fruit on the side or plain where you can mix your own fruit in. It's like the best yogurt on the planet, if you're not in a cottage cheese mood that is.
My 7 Favorite Things
True Blood- Season 2 is so good and it just started, cannot wait to see what else there is in store!! Also, there is just something about the chemistry between Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin, it's really undeniable.
Bachata- I am a Dancing Queen, go Salsa dancing every Saturday night. Everytime I went to the club I would see people dance Bachata and it just looked so sexy that it made me want to learn how to dance it. I am taking lessons next month but for now I am listening to Bachata music like crazy, check this song out, so good. Aventura- Mi Corazoncito : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpfshN1wJKU
Baking/Cooking- One of my favorite pastimes, love to do it. But now I am more psyched because summer is right around the corner and parties are happening so I have a great excuse to get into the kitchen (just baked a carrot cake for a party I'm attending tonight). It's totally worth it when I see the smile on my friends faces cause they've enjoyed the yumminess I've created.
Eric Hutchinson- No seriously!! I have been a fan of yours for a while but lately I've been in a Spanish music mode and had forgotten about my favorites for a while. Then one of these days I was just browsing along and found "Rock & Roll" and it felt as if I was hearing it for the first time. Because it just made me happy and put me in a really good mood and that says a lot about a song and the artist. If you've heard the song a million times but yet everytime it feels like the first time. So thank you for that!!!
Getting back to my roots- Music has always been my passion, primarily singing. But I haven't done it for a while, put it aside just due to life and responsibilities. But this month I decided that it was time to get back into it and it's just been amazing. To tap into that side of me that I hadn't explored in a while, is just great, feels like I never left it at all.
Iced Tea- It has always been one of my favorite drinks but for some reason I've been drinking a lot of it lately. Maybe it's cause I know summer is right around the corner and this is just a pre-summer thing? Either way it is delicious and I never get tired of it!!
Spontaneity- My friend and I had a really bad craving for In N Out, so we take a couple of buses across town just for a Dbl Dbl. Crazy but soo worth it!!
Salsa Dancing on the Santa Monica Promenade, right in between all the shops on a Sunday afternoon, priceless :D.
~Look after my heart, I've left it with you~
90's R&B!!!
Your #7 reminded me back when I was in high school...(Gosh, am I old???!) Some of the members of Jodeci came to our school to perform...good memories, good times! All of the singers you mentioned are awesome!!
Swimming is so much fun!
Swimming is so much fun! It's my favorite thing to do in the summer (duh). I'm like a fish out there...
