Eric & The Colorado Avalanche

Love finding news like this and hearing how Eric is singing for these kinds of benefits. Private concerts by that man are something to speak of, they are his forte most definitely. Lucky peeps who get to hear him perform before tomorrow night's game.

"The Avalanche and KBCO Radio teamed up for an auction to benefit The Children’s Hospital Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. The winners of the auction, which closed Wednesday, will be given a private concert from Eric Hutchinson at Pepsi Center prior to Friday’s game."

Tickets to this show tonight start at $200! I hope Eric packs the Ridgeline, turns a lot of hockey fans onto his music, and raises lots of money for Children's. Unfortunately, I will NOT be there.

KBCO is a great station. Eric will be doing a live performance in their Studio C (around 12:30 Mountain time). You can listen live at www.kbco.com or even watch the studio C webcam.

Great show!

I attended the show and thought it was great! This was one of the best nights I've had in a long time.

The tickets were $200 a pair, not per ticket and it was an AWESOME DEAL because you got more than just concert tickets. In addition to the concert you got a reserved parking pass (you'd have to pay like $30 to park that close normally), hors d'oevres and drinks, plus tickets to the Avalanche hockey game after the concert. We were pleasantly surprised to find out our seats at the Avs game were in the 5th row right next to the Avs bench! Face value for the hockey tickets was $150! $200 for all of that was FANTASTIC DEAL! Not only that but the $200 is tax deductible since it was a charity event. We were treated like royalty all night and had the best time.

Eric was awesome and I loved the show. I can't believe how talented he is. I don't know why he's not a HUGE superstar by now. I loved his sense of humor and I especially loved the song he made up on the spot about the quesadilla bar they set up for us. The show was in this lounge/bar/restaurant area that the club level season ticket holders use. Eric played on a small stage and directly in front of the stage were sofas for people to sit on. Behind that were tables and chairs and a bar. I'd say there were less than 100 people in the room but I don't think all of them purchased tickets. I was confused about that. I got to sit like 10 feet from the stage which was crazy!

I do have one complaint. These people brought their kids (four - eight of them between the ages of like 7 and 14) and they all sat on the couch in the front row about 5 feet from where Eric was performing. The entire show they talked and played and got up and down and the parents did nothing about it. In fact the parents, who were sitting on the sofa behind them, were doing the exact same thing. They were all decked out in Avs attire and I'm wondering if they were there to see Eric or just there for the Avs game. They were really rude and should be ashamed of how they behaved. I was embarrassed for them. It's not like he was there to provide background music. It kind of ruined it for those of us who paid to see him perform. RUDE!!!!!!!!!!! I felt bad for Eric because he was trying to do his thing while these rude people were running around and bouncing on the couch like MONKEYS four feet in front of him!

Eric was nice and signed autographs and took photos after the show. I was thrilled he posed for one with me too! Yay!

I'm still really confused about the whole event though. It was sponsored in part by a local radio station. I found out about three weeks before the show when I was on this website looking to see if he would be performing in Colorado. You had to bid on tickets since it was an auction. There were well over a hundred pairs of tickets available but it looked like only 25 pairs were bid on. I never once heard any promotions for this event which is a shame because I'm sure if people knew about it they would have come and they could have raised even more money for cancer. It seemed like there were a lot of employees and random people at the show. I just didn't get it. I had a great time though and I hope he performs in Colorado again. Hopefully the rude family won't be in the front row!

Awesome, thank you for sharing that with us. Haha, somehow I can see that situation happening to Eric, the kids jumping up and down and such. Kinda funny. I'm sure he made the best of it though, he always does.

Thanks again for telling us about it!
